Selkie Drawing Down the Moon

There is a special time of year
when selkies gather
and sweet song you'll hear

Thier skin is shed to reveal
an inner light
and magical appeal

Some would become so enchanted they say
that thier skins would be
stolen and hidden away

But true love of a selkie
would never contain
her breahless beauty for ones bitter gain

True love can never be driven mad
it endures , it shines
and for her freedom be glad

For true love celebrates the beauty within
and would never steal
a selkies skin

Let us sit with hearts that be pure
while the selkies draw down the moon
to be sure!

Let our heart fill with wonder of someone so free
whos heart is wild
and is grace in the sea

Blessed be!

I read Sophie Moss book " The Selkie Spell" and I felt so sorry for the trapped selkie that I just have to give a lecture about true love! Plus those of you who have come to know me know how I feel about wild beings being trapped or caged.
It was a wonderful read and I truly enjoyed it. What fascinated me was this one description in the book about when the
selkies shed their skin silhouetted by the light of the full moon. I believe it was during Lammas. I created this well before I read the book! LOL

I really did not know much folklore when I created the Selkie's here. Perhaps bits and pieces. When I create a piece I simply allow
the flow of what comes through and create from there. Really it's my muse telling me what to do:) She is cute when she is bossy.
But she is always right by the completion of each piece so I let her have her way. My muse loves the magical beings and
inspires my heart every time.
