you open at night
Shining a luminous
lovely light

Sleeping by day
you do not mind the sun
yet when the skies midnight
your day has begun

The humming bird moths
visit you then
and by tomorrow
they’ll visit again

So I’ll wait
before I close my eyes
to look upon you
before midnight skies

You say “Good-day”
When I say “Goodnight”
yet sweeter still
is your luminous white.
