Celtic Horse

This is a depiction of Jasper the horse. I have painted Jasper in Silhouette and
here as a Celtic Knotwork piece. Horses were always important to the Celtic people
through many famous stories that spoke of the horse as a sacred animal. Also associated
with the Goddess Epona. In Ireland this animal is given a very high status and well sought
after is the Irish Horse. These people take great pride in thier horses.
I have the positive experience to have come to know some horses. They are as individual as we are.
They have different talents and abilities, and excell with a positive reinfocement.
A horse who has been schooled kindly and correctly is an
amazing thing to experience. Especially those horses who are patient and forgiving
the horses who are teachers for those just starting out, that build our confidence and teach us
to live in the present and stay focused. This is a valuable lesson and so the horse
to me will always be a valuable being on this planet, he teaches what it is to be a good friend
and to receive and give, to give and receive. He/she deserves to be understood by those who have horses in thier lives.
As they are willing to understand and accomodate you.

About the Celtic Horse

Within the celtic knot work are the elements, the seasons and the universe. Everything is in cycle. The
horse is deeply connected to the earth, this is refelcted within the knotwork. The spirit of freedom
as well as the connection of a good friend. Within the horse is also the water element symbolic of emotion, for I believe
horses love deeply and connect through that place. At the top of the horses neck there are two hills. At the base of the first hill
you can see a little girl (symbolic of the inner child) sitting atop the horse. They approach the first hill at a trot.
Going over the first they pick up speed to a canter, until they reach the ledge. For a moment the little girl wonders
what will happen, scared she holds on. The horse reassures her everything will be ok. Gathering his strength he leaps
with all is might, wings sprout from his back. Transfoming him into Pegasus. Carrying the little girl to the star of her dreams.

This is about having faith in something greater. Love.
