Baby Moonbeam and Angus

Baby Moonbeam, a mermaidling, sat quietly holding her little shell and the reigns and harness she made from things she found on the bottom of the ocean.  All the work she did with her Mama  to make her little chariot, but having no seahorse to pull her simple creation.........Angus the baby seahorse, grew quickly, his dream to pull a chariot so fine. Telling his dream to Moonbeam's mother Angelica when he was first born......
One day Angus saw little Moonbeam sitting all alone looking sad and holding a small shell with what looked to be reigns. He swam over to her and told Moonbeam of his dream to pull a chariot so fine someday.  Moonbeam's face fell and she looked even sadder.
"I have no fine chariot Angus, I only have this that Mama helped me make.  I have no seahorse that will work with me. All the seahorses already have a mermaidling to work with" Moonbeam finished.  Her voice trailing off.  "I have no mermaidling to work with Moonbeam
I would love to pull your chariot for you and work with you.
Your chariot looks light and easy to work with.  I have never pulled a chariot before. Why don't we try!!" Angus said happily.
Moonbeam's sad little face changed to one of hope.
Everyday that followed, Moonbeam and Angus worked together. Many times Angus accidentally leaned too far forward and pulled free of the simple harness.  Many times Moonbeam was not able to balance on the little shell and would fall off or the shell would twist dumping her off.
Neither gave up even if both went home feeling defeated that day.  Eventually perseverance paid off, now they have more then balance, they have a trusting and affectionate relationship.  Today they swim against the tide, building strength and endurance.
Neither really expected the relationship to grow such as it has.
But they will forever be in each other's lives as the best of friends and Angus thinks his chariot is the finest there is, because it was made with hope.
